Hoshin is a Professor of Systems Analysis at the University of Arizona, Department of Hydrology and Water Resources, Tucson, Arizona, USA.

His band - “Water On The Rocks” - performing in and around Tucson, plays an eclectic range of music including Jazz, Latin, Rock and Folk.

Hoshin’s extra-curricular interests include music, art, sailing, travel, martial arts, bodywork, NLP and remodeling his 1913 Arts and Crafts home.

His favorite musical influences are Jethro Tull, Pink Floyd and Frank Zappa.

“Like A Lotus Resting In Fire: The Great Dance” is Hoshin’s first commercial CD of all original music.  All of the music was composed, recorded, arranged, and mixed on a Mac Pro computer using Garageband ‘08.

Mastering was done by George Nardo at Luna Recording Studio, Tucson Arizona.

Many of these tunes are influenced by Hoshin’s Zen practice under the guidance of Roshi John Tarrant of the Pacific Zen Institute.
